There probably isn’t such a thing as the “best” WordPress hosting service, because none of them is perfect. I’ve used lots of hosts so far, and while some are better than the others in certain aspects, each of them falls short in one or more areas.
Different websites and website owners have different needs, so you’ll always find good and bad reviews of every host out there.
Reddit is a good place to look for real reviews and experiences, but those too can be subjective and case-dependent.
Combining my own personal experience with different companies and what Redditors recommend, I put together this shortlist of considerable WordPress hosting providers in 2025.
1. Pressable
Pressable started surfacing in Reddit discussions lately and I give it a big thumbs-up as well. It’s a great managed WordPress host that pretty much has it all.
It’s a hands-off service. They take care of everything from security, backups, updates, etc. Support agents are very responsive and knowledgeable, and there are rarely any technical issues on the server side.
Performance wise, the most distinguished feature Pressable has is auto-scalability. Each website can automatically scale between 10 and up to 110 PHP workers during high traffic periods.
Pressable is best for small business and eCommerce/WooCommerce websites. It’s not cheap, but if you want reliable uptime and support, it’s worth every penny.
2. Kinsta
Kinsta is another frequent recommendation on Reddit. Their service is highly reliable and their support staff is well trained.
Kinsta is a little more expensive than Pressable, but they have better developer tools. On the downside, they have a hard limit on PHP workers/threads, so if you want to host a dynamic website, like WooCommerce, Pressable can handle traffic spikes better without forcing you to upgrade to a more costly plan.
3. Cloudways
Cloudways is often vouched for by WordPress developers and agencies on Reddit. It offers managed cloud hosting from major providers like DigitalOcean, Vultr, AWS, and Google Cloud.
They take care of server management for you and allow you to quickly scale up your server from the dashboard. Their “flexible” plans are more cost-effective than the above hosts with fewer limits. For example, you can host unlimited websites and they don’t have a cap on monthly visits.
Cloudways also offers fully managed WordPress hosting, which they call Autonomous. It has good technical features, but their support agents aren’t as professional or experienced as those at Pressable or Kinsta.
4. KnownHost
KnownHost has a long history of being a reputable hosting provider on Reddit, and the owner is active there. I used their WordPress hosting a while ago; it was a good experience overall.
Some parts of their website and docs are outdated, but the service is solid and support team is responsive.
One thing that bothered me was that PayPal payments had to be manually submitted. They don’t have an option for an automatic PayPal subscription, but this is a minor inconvenience.
5. Hostinger
Hostinger has both fans and haters on Reddit! I’ve used their hosting myself, and for the low price I paid, I couldn’t ask for more. It’s cheap hosting, and there is always a compromise with cheap hosting.
In case of Hostinger, their main weakness is the support service. They’ve recently launched an AI assistant (Kodee) as the first-line chat support agent. Sometimes it’s helpful and other times not so much. You can ask for human support, but it may take a while to get a response.
My personal experience with Hostinger has been positive overall. They offer a huge introductory discount, so it’s great if you are starting out on a limited budget.
Their regular shared hosting is suitable for low-traffic websites, but for heavy sites, you should go with one of the cloud hosting plans. The latter come with more server resources and processing power.
They also offer self-managed VPS hosting at a low price, but I wouldn’t recommend this option unless you have solid experience in server management.
